Outfit of the Day: Moon River!

The other day, I was thinking about how much I loved Audrey Hepburn movies, and how much I loved old movies and television shows, in general, and decided to take some inspiration from her and bring it to my wardrobe.  In Breakfast At Tiffany's, there is a scene where she's singing Moon River - an absolutely gorgeous song, so if you haven't heard it, you should definitely check it out! - and she looks so casual, yet still incredibly chic.

So, what did I do to achieve a similar style?  Well, first, I grabbed a pair of simple denim shorts.  It's been terribly hot, and during the day I'm at work, and can't wear a dress, so these work fine.  Then, I slipped on a simple, lace camisole from Express, and topped it off with a sweater, similar to this one from Target.  As you can see, it's a bright, Tiffany blue, which I thought was a fun tie in back to the movie!

As for my nails, there could be no other choice than the fabulous Turquoise & Caicos by Essie.  Another lovely Tiffany blue that ties back into the movie well again!  I did add an accent nail, but rather than go into detail about my manicure in this post, you'll just have to come back on Monday when I put up a post all about it!

I wore some nice, nude flats to keep the look simple, similar to these, and then finally, added a couple of well placed sparkly "diamonds" - mine are all fake, of course! - and that's it!  A lovely Audrey Hepburn inspired outfit!
