In the Navy Floppy Hat

I got a request recently to make a navy floppy hat, which is how this particular hat came about.  I absolutely love it, to the point where I'll have to make myself one this winter!  Floppy hats are just so much fun to make and wear, and I think they'll be a trend this fall/winter, and for seasons to come!

  • 1 skein Caron Simply Soft in Dk Country Blue
  • 2 #8 circular needles (or size needed to obtain guage)
  • Cable needle
  • Yarn sewing needle
26 sts and 26 rows = 4" over pattern using size 8 needles.

    Round 9: [k2tog, k8, k2tog, p1] 6 times.
    Rounds 10-12: k2tog around.
Cut yarn, leaving a 12" tail, and using a yarn needle, slip the remaining stitches onto the yarn, pulling tightly to finish the crown of the hat. Finally, weave in all the ends, and you're done!
