Flowers & Pearls Headband

After making my Flowers & Pearls Floppy Hat, I knew I had to continue the series, and immediately tried to think of something else to continue the series with.  I decided that a big, cozy headband would be really fun for the winter, especially for some of the sportier fashionistas that like having their hair up.  I know a headband is definitely a must-have for me, and thought I'd share the pattern with all of you, as well!





Materials

• 1 sk Caron Simply Soft in Heather
• Size H Crochet Hook
• Yarn sewing needle

Pearl

*Yo twice, insert hook in next st, pull up a lp, [yo, draw through 2 lps] twice; rep from * 4 times more, yo and draw through all 6 lps on hook, ch 1.

Flower (Make 2)

Ch 2.

Round 1: 5sc in 2nd ch from hook, join with sl st to 1st sc.  Ch 1.

Round 2-3: 2 sc in each sc around, join with sl st to first sc.  Ch 1.

Round 4: Working all sts tfl, * ch2 (in addition to the ch from round 3), 1 tr in same sc, 2tr in each of next 2 sc, 1 tr in next sc, ch 3, sl st in same sc and sl st in next sc; rep from * 4 more times.

Round 5: Working all sts tbl of round 3, sl st 3, * ch 4, 1 dtr in same st, 2dtr in each of next 2 sts, 1 dtr in next st, ch 3, sl st in same st and in next st; rep from * 4 more times.  Fasten off.

Headband
For rib border, ch 4.
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Ch1, turn.
Row 2: work sc in front lp only in each st. Ch 1, turn.
Repeat row 2 for 72 more rows, then being careful not to twist, join final row with a sl st to foundation ch to form a circle, ch 1.

Row 1(WS): Working alongside of rib border, dc into each row end, joining with a sl st to first dc - 72 sts. Ch1, turn.
Row 2-3: dc in each st, join with a sl st.  Ch1, turn.
Row 4: hdc in each st, join with a sl st.  Ch1, turn.
Row 5: Work hdc in next 25 sts, *ch 1, skip 1, hdc in next 3 sts; rep from *, end with hdc in each of last 2 sts, join with a sl st.  Ch1, turn.
Row 6: hdc in each of next 2 sts, *work pearl in next ch-1 sp, hdc in each of next 3 hdc; rep from * until ch-1 spaces have stopped, hdc in last 25 sts, join with a sl st.  Ch1, turn.
Row 7: dc in next 25 sts, *hdc into top of pearl, dc in next 3 sts; rep from *, end with dc in each of last 2 sts, join with a sl st.  Ch1, turn.
Row 8-9: work dc in each st, join with a sl st.  Ch1, turn.

For end ribbing of hat, ch3, turn.
Row 1: Work sc in front lp only of next 3 st, sl st alongside headband border, turn.
Row 2:  Work sc in front lp only of next 3 st, ch1, turn.
Repeat rows 1-2 until headband border is complete, and join final row with a sl st foundation.

Finishing
Weave in all loose ends, and attach flowers.
